Hi, the ranger you are describing is not a thumper but a pet fury. But i forgive you, lots of people make this mistake^^.

And as anti warrior your build is great but you can play blinder ele or ineptitude mesmer too

Looks like a very solid build to me. I would be tempted to drop Brutal Strike for Comfort Animal though. If a team kills your pet you lose your Thumpers energy management, and a considerable amount of damage.

Also I'm pretty sure you might want to double check the attributes of your Curses/Illusion Mesmer. Aside from that; looks decent.

Actually, the original thumpers (known as "bunny thumpers" then) were rangers with hammers. They use ferocious strike most often, but also have been known to use dev hammer, back breaker, and most recently enraged lunge. Call him whatever you want, but if he's a ranger and he's weilding a hammer, he's a thumper.

As for the build, it's not bad but it's not going to win matches quickly. With the dom mes almost completely damage free, and the meager damage from the anti-melee almost all conditional, your thumper is your only damage dealer. Provided your opposition knows how to kite, it won't matter that their monk can't cast anything, because he won't need to. I've run a build very similar to this, and it does win, it just takes ages some games.

You say that in almost every post. If you're so worried about your terrible spelling why not learn to spell? I don't think it'd be a stretch to say that spelling is one of those skills that you need to have to win at life.

With the mes/nec build, the ability to shut down up to 3 melee dmg dealer, and being able to spread max degen on everybody, in case if u didnt know, 10 degen do 200 dmg in 10 seconds, gg, inep mes, lol, EXPEL hex = gg.
if old school balance with a b flash ele is kick ass now, i wont even bother change to hex.

Back when ziek and i used to get along, this is the exact build we would run70% of the time and I got the majority of my glad points with this, The one thing I will say is this, you think the shutdown build can shu 3 melee char down, but ur not correct in tha aspect. It can basically shut 1 down completey, 2 down pretty well, but u might as well just let the third runaround and gale him with the mes, b/c it cant shut 3 down... however it is a lot of degen, and wit a goood shutdown mes (*cough cough me cough cough*) its too much pressure for the monk to take forcing him to make stupid mistakes and easy bait for catching skills with diversion. Anyway its a good build and if you have 4 good players with you, there is a very good chance at getting glad pts.

Yes, this build can work quite well. Another attractive quality is that none of those roles are terribly hard to play with the diversion mes only slightly more complicated than the others. So yes, a competitive build thats easy to use(actually I've always considered the Me/N the base of that kind of build because a lot of chars can be fit into there). However, I would hate to see this build fare against the NR that runs rampant in TA...
